A reimagined telling of classic characters, TIN MAN is a new family dance show by Joss Arnott Dance for family audiences 7+.

Lonely, rusted from crying, and in search of a heart, the Tin Man travels through the world of Oz now cast dark from the spell of a Wicked Witch. The Tin Man’s task is simple – he must find his heart in order to stay alive. Gaining a family of fellow outsiders along the way, he brings light into Oz once more. Told with humour and pathos, TIN MAN will resonate with children and adult audiences by bringing together relevant storytelling, bold choreography, stunning set, costume and lighting designs and a newly commissioned music score by award-winning composer Anna Appleby.

Throughout the next 12-months as we approach the creation of our new family dance production, we will explore a range of interventions that will place audiences in the design and creation of the work at a variety of stages in the creation process of TIN MAN. We will be working with Human Centered Design expert Hannah Fox (Director of Programmes and Projects Derby Museums), to explore how we continue to create relevant and exciting dance productions.

TIN MAN will tour from Spring 2022 with live performances from music ensemble Psappha at selected venues.

As we continue to push the way we work and ensure our work is high quality and relevant – we will be working with an exciting team of creative practitioners to realise the TIN MAN.
