Lauren Wilson

Dancer

Lauren was born in East Yorkshire and began training with her mum at LWHS School of Dance. She also trained as an Associate of the Royal Ballet School and Northern Ballet. Lauren went on to study at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance. In her final year with Rambert School Lauren had the opportunity to understudy Rambert Dance Company’s ‘A Linha Curva’ choreographed by Itzik Galili.

After graduating, Lauren joined Tavaziva Dance for their Autumn 2011 tour of ‘Double Take’ and their Spring 2012 tour of ‘Sensual Africa’. She returned to work with Tavaziva performing at Deloitte Ignite Festival, Royal Opera House and Dans Encore Montreal, Canada. Following this Lauren worked with Watkins Dance in the company’s premiere tour ‘Angled Eye’, going on to perform ‘Detox’ at London’s Southbank Centre, choreographed by Urja Desai Thakore director of Pagrav Dance Company.

Lauren joined Joss Arnott Dance in 2012 performing in a number of tours, including the triple bill of ‘5|0’ in collaboration with Dame Evelyn Glennie, before joining Scottish Opera performing in their tour of ‘La Traviata’. She was then asked to join Welsh National Opera in 2018, performing in ‘La Cenerentola’, ‘La Traviata’ and their new production of ‘War and Peace’. Most recently Lauren performed in the first cast of ‘Top Hat’ onboard Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth, directed by Tom O’Brien and choreographed by Joanne Mcshane.
