Kadafi is a contemporary dance artist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, based in Greater Manchester. He trained at De Montfort University, completing a BA (Hons) in Dance, before undertaking an MA in Contemporary Dance Performance through the Professional Placement Scheme (PPS) with Northern School of Contemporary Dance. He joined Company Chameleon as an apprentice in 2022 and became a Company Dancer in 2024.  

Kadafi has toured extensively across the UK with Company Chameleon, performing in productions including “Witness This”, “Umbra”, “Push”, “Hands Down”, “Amaranthine”, “Picture We Make”, “Refuse”, “Bloom”, “Obscura”, “Odyssie”, “Cyclops”, “Carmen”, and “The Divination Palace”.

Alongside his work with Company Chameleon, Kadafi collaborated with WeAreEpic and Kitapoleng Bali on “Convergence of Grace”, a filmed production in Bali supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture. He has also performed “Together”, choreographed by Douglas Thorpe (Mad Dogs Dance Theatre), at LDIF Serendipity Institute for Black Arts and Heritage in Leicester.

Drawing on a background in martial arts, hip-hop and acrobatic tricking, Kadafi’s movement practice combines contemporary dance, physical theatre, contact improvisation and partner work. His work is rooted in storytelling, imagination and collaboration, with a commitment to creating dynamic, physically expressive performances while continuing to evolve as a versatile artist.
