Celebrating our 15th anniversary, Joss Arnott Dance (JAD) are seeking one male-identifying, professional, freelance dancer based within the United Kingdom to join the company for the creation period and tour of our new dance and multimedia production “Meet the Hatter”.
Based in the North West of England, the company create contemporary dance productions and are looking to appoint a versatile, contemporary trained dancer who has a strong sense of musicality, exceptional creative and improvisational skills and the theatrical ability to bring our leading Hatter character to life. The successful applicant will also be expected to have previous experience working with a range of participants within educational and community settings.
Please note, the production is a solo show for one dancer, yet the tour dates for Autumn 2025/Winter 2026 will be double-casted between two performers.
CREATION DATES
Block 1
- Mon 14th – Sat 19th July 2025
- Mon 21st – Fri 25th July 2025
- Mon 28th July – Fri 1st August 2025
Block 2
- Mon 11th – Fri 15th August 2025
- Mon 18th – Fri 22nd August 2025
- Tues 26th – Fri 29th August 2025
- Mon 1st – Fri 5th September 2025
- Tues 16th – Fri 19th September 2025
Applicants are expected to be available for all the above dates but may state if they are unavailable for any dates for our consideration.
Any additional rehearsal or scheduled workshop delivery dates will be negotiated in advance.
Travel, accommodation and per diems, where necessary, will be provided during rehearsal and touring periods.
Tour Dates (2x shows per day max)
The dates below indicate the draft touring schedule, additional tour dates are TBC. It is expected that each dancer will deliver up to 50% of these dates.
- Wed 1st & Thurs 2nd October 2025
- Wed 29th October – Sat 1st November 2025
- Thurs 4th – Sat 6th December 2025
- Thurs 11th – Sat 13th December 2025
- Tues 10th – Sat 14th February 2026
Additional rehearsal dates during rehearsal and touring periods will be discussed and negotiated in advance.
FEES will be paid above Equity/ITC minimum rates.

Friday 28th February 2025: Successful applicants will be notified by this date and invited to an audition on Saturday 22nd March 2025 in Salford. We regretfully are unable to respond to unsuccessful applicants or provide feedback.
Saturday 22nd March 2025 (12:00-18:00, Salford): Shortlisted applicants must be available to attend this audition date. Attendance at the audition is by invite-only. Travel will be reimbursed with a cap at £70.00 per applicant.
