AISHWARYA RAUT AND ANTONELLO SANGIRARDI

GUEST CHOREOGRAPHERS 2026/27

Aishwarya Raut is a dancer and choreographer from Mumbai, India. She trained in India and the UK (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts). She holds a BA in Dance and an MA in Dance Performance. From 2018 to 2024, she danced with Rambert performing works by leading contemporary choreographers, earning National Dance Awards UK nominations in 2024 and 2025. Aishwarya joined GöteborgsOperans Danskompani in July 2025. She has been featured in Dance Magazine and listed in Bachtrack’s ‘Rising stars in Dance and Choreography:10 to watch 2024-25’. Alongside her company work, she continues to work independently as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher across Europe and Asia. 

Antonello Sangirardi is a contemporary dancer, choreographer, and photographer from Bari, Italy. In 2017 he danced with Ballet Preljocaj later joining Rambert from 2018 to 2024. Antonello’s choreography credits include “All The World’s Alive Again” by H-Magazine featured on Nowness as assistant choreographer, “Tutto Fumo” for company Equilibrio Dinamico 2024, “Nadī” for Thames Water Festival 2024, “My Shop, Your Problems” for a self-produced event in Rambert, in 2023. 

He is currently a freelance artist working across UK, Europe and India. 

Between them, Aishwarya and Antonello have performed works by Wim Vandekeybus, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Akram Khan, Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Ben Duke, Imre and Marne Van Opstal, Alexander Ekman, Hofesh Shechter, Benoit Swan Pouffer, Jo Strømgren, Rafael Bonachela, Alonzo King, Jill Johnson, David Raymond and Tiffany Tregarthen, Marion Motin, (LA)Horde and Wayne McGregor. 

Artist and Brand credits include FKA Twigs, Lykke Li, Laura Mvula, Ed Sheeran, Swiss, Vogue, Ferrari X Chivas, Valentino and Hermès.

EMMA FARNELL-WATSON

GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER 2026/27

Emma’s work spans both screen and stage. Drawing from her own dance career working with notable contemporary companies such as Hofesh Shechter and an extensive range of commercial brands, she has developed her own creative language and voice as a maker. 

She has choreographed for brands Chanel, Magnum, Adidas, Marimekko, Burberry, Macdonalds and Marks and Spencer, for artists Freya Ridings, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Jamie Cullum, Hikaru Utada, and Copenhagen Concerto Orchestra.  

Alongside this, she has assisted on Season 2 of “Sandman” for Netflix, for BBC series “Dope Girls”, for Bulgari’s recent showcase event and on videos for George Ezra, Baby Queen, Eurovision contestant Claude and on a new creation for Rambert Dance Company with Emma Evelein. 

She is currently assisting on feature film “Roots Manoeuvre”, directed by Raine Allen-Miller and recently assisted on Regent Park Open Air Theatre’s new production of “Fiddler on the Roof” that won 3 Oliviers and was nominated for Best Choreography.  

Her latest short film, “Ammonia”, was commissioned by Sadler’s Wells, and featured on the Directors Library. It won silver at the 1.4 awards and was nominated for Best Short at the National Dance Awards.  

She loves to continue working for stage and has made work for English National Ballet’s Youth Company, Immersive Theatre Company, RIFT and live work at Cannes Film Festival in collaboration with Magnum ice cream.   

Her next project will for the new Harry Potter series as part of the core choreography and movement team.

LISA MARIE ROBINSON

GUEST CHOREOGRAPHER 2026/27

Assistant Choreographer with Joss Arnott 2024-27

Lisa Marie Robinson is a passionate contemporary dance artist originally from the North East of England. Her contemporary dance journey began at Dance City CAT in Newcastle, where her love for contemporary dance was first ignited. She then continued her training at Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. 

Eager to deepen her artistry, Lisa completed her MA with Emergence 23. During this time, she toured nationally and collaborated with artists and companies including FLOCK (Alice Klock & Florian Lochner), Anthony Missen and Joss Arnott. 

Throughout her training and career, Lisa has worked with a range of renowned choreographers and companies such as Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures (Youth Cast), Shobana Jeyasingh, Alleyne Dance, Southpaw Dance Company, 201 Dance Company and Robert Anderson. 

Now based in London as a freelance artist, Lisa is represented by several agencies and continues to expand her creative practice into commercial and fitness industry work, including choreography and performance. She is thrilled to be reuniting with Joss Arnott and looks forward to working with the new Emergence 26/27 cohort.

JOSS ARNOTT

Joss is the Artistic Director of Emergence and professional dance company Joss Arnott Dance.  

Founding Joss Arnott Dance in 2010, Joss is an internationally award-winning choreographer who has been continuously supported and commissioned by leading UK dance agencies, venues and funding organisations. Joss is in demand as a choreographer and has been commissioned to create work for professional dance companies including Rambert and leading dance conservatoires. 

His artistic vision is fuelled by creating a portfolio of work for a diverse range of audiences which are at the heart of everything he produces, including indoor, outdoor and family-orientated productions. He has a trademark, athletic choreographic language that is grown from classical and commercial techniques, shaped by contemporary aesthetic and inspired by music. 

Joss strives for innovation of the highest quality and curates world-class collaborations for Joss Arnott Dance which became evident in 2015 with the company’s 5th-anniversary tour that featured live music from the world’s premier solo percussionist, Dame Evelyn Glennie  

 With a commitment and passion for talent development, Joss has been a Focus Group Artist for Sadler’s Well’s National Youth Dance Company, BBC Young Dancer consultant and has worked with and produced multiple works for the National Centre for Advance training Schemes.  

2018 marked the year of the newly formed partnership between Joss Arnott Dance and the University of Salford with the launch of Emergence and the MA Dance: Performance and Professional Practices programme, the only industry-led postgraduate dance company in the UK.  

Over the past 8 years, Emergence has established itself as a leading postgraduate performance company and tours newly commissioned performance work by internationally acclaimed choreographers annually. The programme’s employability success is evident with dancers having thriving careers in the arts, with graduates joining leading dance companies and sustaining portfolio careers in the sector.
