Born and raised in Iceland, Íris began her dance training at the age of 3. While studying in Iceland she had the opportunity to work with choreographer Lára Stefánsdóttir for a collaborative project with the Icelandic Symphonic Orchestra and attend summer schools abroad, including Alonzo King LINES Ballet and American Ballet Theatre.
After graduating from the National Ballet School of Iceland in 2018, Íris went on to study at Rambert School in London, where she recently graduated with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Ballet and Contemporary Dance. During her time at Rambert School, she had the opportunity to work with Julie Cunningham for her piece ‘Slant’, which was scheduled to be performed at Sadler’s Wells in March 2020.
In her third year Íris also worked with choreographers Vidya Patel and Cameron McMillan for Rambert School’s ‘Next Generation’ performance, which was performed at Linbury Theatre and Anya Linden Studio Theatre.
Íris is also a certified barre instructor from The Barre Collective in London and has been teaching classes alongside her studies.
Outside of the studio Íris enjoys spending time with friends and family, exercising, yoga, reading, hiking and playing the piano.
