Emily was born in Cumbria, in a small town of Barrow-In-Furness. She began her formative training at Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts studying a Foundation Certificate in Commercial Dance where she trained in a diverse set of styles including contemporary, ballet, commercial, jazz and musical theatre.
Emily then furthered her studies gaining a First-Class BA (Hons) degree in Professional Dance at Dance City. During her training she has worked with choreographers Lea Anderson, Richard Chappell, Liv Lorent, Anthony Lo-Guidice and Regina Wilingen. Emily relishes in the collaborative aspect of working with choreographers to create their vision of work, thriving off drawing an audience in and taking them on a journey.
Emily has completed placements with Motionhouse, National Dance Company of Wales (NDCW) and Ballet Lorent.
To extend her training Emily has taken part in several summer intensives including Rambert, The Place, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and Northern School of Contemporary dance.
Outside of her studies she enjoys choreographing and the use of improvisation to generate material, seeing the capabilities that her own body can reach and explore, as well as inviting others into the space to ignite a collaborative and unique relationship of movement.
