Innes Oliver

DANCER

Innes was born in Somerset and began taking ballet classes at age 3 at the Bristol Ballet Centre. As she grew, her passion for dance led to her selection for the Royal Ballet School’s Junior Associates and Elmhurst Ballet School’s Young Dancers programme. At 14, she began vocational training at Moorland International Ballet Academy, focusing on ballet and contemporary. During this time, she participated in workshops with inspiring artists such as Charlotte Tonkinson and Monique Jonas.

In 2022, Innes was accepted into the Northern Ballet School in Manchester, where she trained in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, and musical theatre. In her second year, she specialised in the classical pathway, deepening her focus on ballet and contemporary. This course grew her love for contemporary dance, and her creativity was further developed through choreography projects in collaboration with the Royal Northern College of Music. In 2025, she performed on the main stage at Move It in London and danced in choreography by Diana Loosmore in her final performances, before graduating with a Level 6 Diploma.

Innes has also participated in the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain’s performance company since she was 11. This intensive allowed her to work with renowned choreographers such as Emily-Jayne Boyle, Jonathan Payn, Daniel Davidson and Louise Bennet, and perform at venues such as the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham and Sadler’s Wells, London. The National Youth Ballet also invited Innes to join their collaboration with Sheffield Youth Orchestra in 2022. She worked with choreographers, musicians and mezzo-soprano Clover Kayne to perform “Seven Deadly Sins” at the Octagon Theatre in Sheffield. These experiences with National Youth Ballet helped Innes to immerse herself in performing and allowed her to showcase her creativity on stage.

Alongside her training, Innes has also performed at the Wedmore Arts Festival, working with Jonathan Payn to present insights into the choreographic and performance process to a local audience. More recently, she co-led dance-drawing workshops with illustrator Joanna Spicer in her local schools, sparking an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration.

Outside the studio, Innes enjoys long walks, reading, puzzles and having fun with her friends.
