Evdokia Tzari
DANCER
Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Evdokia fell in love with the stage from the age of four. Alongside her love for dance, she was also drawn to theatre and musical theatre, which continue to inspire her artistic journey. Throughout her school years, she was fortunate to attend an institution that nurtured her artistic talents and offered her the opportunity to develop as a performer. She later studied Marketing at the Athens University of Economics and Business while simultaneously completing her BA in Classical and Contemporary Dance with distinction at the Athens Conservatoire School of Dance. In her first year of studies, she became a member of the resident dance company Corporis Miracula Dance Ensemble/Eldor under the direction of Lila Zafeiropoulou, and she continues to collaborate with the company as both a dancer and the choreographer’s assistant, performing in numerous productions.
Her ballet repertoire includes, among others, performing in “Cinderella” choreographed by Christiana Stefanou. She also danced in “Don Quixote” during her time with the Greek National Opera. Her contemporary repertoire includes “Emit Time” by Lila Zafeiropoulou, performed at the inauguration of the Ioannis Despotopoulos Theatre at the Athens Conservatoire with guest of honour Sir Richard Alston. She also performed in “Sarcophagus” by Danai Papadopoulou, presented at the XENAKIS NETWORKED PERFORMANCE MARATHON 2022 (XNPM22) and at the Chorochronos Contemporary Dance Festival. Another highlight includes “Art Unites Us All”, an original multimedia project featuring 210 artists, a collaboration between the Athens Conservatoire, the Harvard Ballet Company and soloists from the New York City Ballet.
Her training has been further enriched through a variety of international workshops and intensives, which have helped her develop her individuality and personal voice as a dancer. These experiences constantly inspire her to explore new ways of growing as a performer. She has attended NOD Nuova Officina Della Danza with choreographer Edouard Hue, the Prague Ballet Intensive, and masterclasses with Luc Bouy and Gaetano Petrosino, both renowned for their work at the Arena di Verona, held at the Athens Conservatoire.
Outside of dance, Evdokia enjoys painting and singing, exploring theatre and musical productions, attending cultural events, and discovering new forms of artistic expression. She is also passionate about travelling and learning from different cultures, which continually inspire her creative work.
