Abigail Longworth

DANCER

Growing up through a diverse range of training, Abigail began her journey with gymnastics, ballet, tap, and modern dance before moving into contemporary and hip hop practices. At 13, she joined the Northern School of Contemporary Dance CAT scheme, which nurtured her creativity and technical foundation. She went on to study at CAPA College, before furthering her training and moving to London at 18 to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, where she completed her BA in Contemporary Dance.

For the past three years alongside her degree, Abigail has been a member of Boy Blue Hip Hop Company, where she continues to train and perform. Alongside this, she is a member of Corded UK (movement creative agency), The Lab Company and trained with BirdGang Ltd – experiences that have developed her versatility across both stage and screen. Abigail has really valued her 3 years in London and the creatives/choreographers that she connected with, but is excited to move to Manchester and be closer to home again.

Abigail’s performance highlights include performing at Wembley Stadium for the UEFA Champions League Final with Lenny Kravitz, The Barbican and Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Her work also spans film and fashion, with credits including Black Noise (Blunt Stuff), projects with London School of Fashion, and Niquelle LaTouche Arts, M(other)Land.

In addition to performing, Abigail has choreographed for theatre, most notably “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” at Bury St Edmunds’ Theatre Royal. She is also passionate about teaching, with experience working with a wide range of communities, including SEN children, young adults with Down syndrome and Deaf adults.

Abigail is now excited to continue evolving her practice at postgraduate level with Emergence.
