Varya Kryvoruchko
DANCER
Varya was born and raised in Ukraine, where she began dancing at the age of four at her local dance school, Модерн Данс Стиль. During her years there, she performed in numerous contemporary dance festivals and competitions across Ukraine and Europe.
Alongside her training and performing, Varya began teaching dance at just 14 years old, working with both children and adults at three different dance studios. Her growing passion for dancing and choreography led her to pursue further dance training in higher education. After finishing school, she was accepted into the Dance Performance and Choreography program at the Kharkiv State Academy of Culture.
However, after completing only her first semester, Varya was forced to leave Ukraine due to the outbreak of war, leaving behind her home and family. Determined to continue her path, she applied to Universities abroad and was accepted into the University of Chichester. There, she completed her BA (Hons) in Dance Performance with a First-Class Honours.
While at Chichester, Varya was a member of the 3Fall Dance Company, performing and touring works by KJ Mortimer, Glitch Dance Collective and Lila Dance. In her final year, she presented her own choreography, “Nad Dniprom”, which was selected for the 3Fall 2025 tour and performed at venues across the south coast of England. She was later awarded the University’s Award for Excellence in Choreography & Performance for this work.
Proud of her Ukrainian roots, Varya is passionate about sharing her cultural background through movement and performance. In addition to her work in dance, she also has a strong interest in filming, video editing, and photography, and is particularly interested in the connection between visual media and movement.
